Two products that spent almost a decade raising the bar for orchestration are now one company. Dagster continues with full support under its own name and open-source license.
Dagster is joining Prefect
Prefect is acquiring Dagster Labs, including the Dagster product, codebase, customer relationships, and many members of the Dagster team.
Dagster continues as Dagster
Dagster remains a supported product under its existing name. Dagster's open source project continues under its existing license, and Dagster+ remains a supported commercial offering.
One company beginning August 2026
Following the close of the transaction, the combined company is expected to operate under the Prefect name beginning in August 2026.
Nothing changes for customers
Your deployments, contracts, pricing, and support remain unchanged. There is no action required on your part.
Dagster stays Dagster
Dagster continues as a supported product. Dagster keeps its name and open source license, and Dagster+ continues as a supported commercial offering.
Supporting Dagster customers remains our highest priority throughout this transition.

Dagster continues support with a full roadmap. Our focus is on stability and continuity while bringing together the strengths of both organizations.

Nothing about your Dagster deployment changes as a result of today's announcement. There is no migration required, and we will communicate clearly and well in advance if future product plans affect customers.

Our existing commitments around security, privacy, and compliance remain unchanged. There are no planned changes to where or how customer data is stored or processed as a result of today's announcement.
Dagster is fully open for business
We continue supporting existing customers, welcoming new customers, and helping organizations evaluate, implement, and operate Dagster successfully.
